On the Eighth Day of November in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty five The within-named Edward Cornthwaite Batchelor of old Hutton in the parish of Kendal----- aged Twenty Six Years and upwards, appeared personally, and alledged that he intended to marry with Elizabeth Guy of old Hutton a minor with consent of parents within-named, aged Twenty Years, and that he knoweth of no lawful Let or Impediment, by Reason of any Pre-contract, Confanguinity, Affinity, or any other lawful Cause whatsoever, to hinder the said intended Marriage, of the Truth of which he made oath, and also that the usual Place of their abode hath been for four Weeks last past at old Hutton in the Parish of KendallSWORN before me Thomas Symonds Comms.
