Clarke Family - Daniel Wilson Clarke - First National Bank of Rock Springs Wyoming letter

This letter has been handed down from my mother in law, Helen Louise "Pat" Clarke Lindgren. This letter reads as follows:

AUGUSTINE KENDALL, President       3920     T.W. Boyer, Cashier
J.G. EDWARDS                                                      J.P. Boyer, Asst. Cashier

First National Bank of Rock Springs.
UNITED STATES DEPOSITARY
ROCK SPRINGS, WYO.
April 25, 1910

Mr D. W. Clarke,
Millburne, Wyo.

Dear Sir:-

I was very interested in the contents of your favor of the 22nd which came to hand this morning and regret having been delayed in answering you in the time ou state. However, I will say that I am not at all surprised to see the contents of Mr. Stevens letter to you, but will also state that what he says to you and what he wrote to Mr. Johnson, throw two different lights on the subject. I will say it will be perfectly satisfactory to us for you to go ahead with your sale as you suggest, after you see Mr. Percy Stevens, representative of the Company.
I think you are very wise in advertising your sale as you have done and the only thing to be careful about is to be very careful with regard to who signs your notes.
Trusting we will hear from you at an early date and also that your sale is a most successful one, we are,
          Yours very truly, J.R. Boyer

                                                                      Cashier.

P. S.
I think your selection of Groshon to advise you with regard to the class of credits, is a good one.

Good Family - John Good - 50th Anniversary Celebration

I have not yet found the newspaper that this was in, however I believe the event took place in Trenton Ohio.
This clipping reads as:

GOLDEN WEDDING - Wednesday was the fiftieth anniversary of the marriage of John and Elizabeth Good, who live near Trenton. It was appropriately celebrated by the children and friends of the family, was, without the knowledge of the aged couple, made extensive preparations for the event. A grand dinner was the most important auxiliary connected with the affair, to which about seventy-five persons did ample justice. J.G. Long sent as a gift a beautiful card-case, Mrs, H. G. Johns a gold-napkin ring besides many other presents from members of the family. Master Daniel Wilson Clark, aged five years, a great-grandson of the aged couple, added to the enjoyment of the occassion by making the following speech: "Ladies and gentlemen, I now appear before you this afternoon. I'm not very large, but my age is five years. I will present to my great-grandpa and grandma a gold dollar, as I am the only great-grandchild. My name is Daniel Wilson Clark." His little speech was heartily received by the guests. In the evening the Seven mile Cornet Band, by special invitation, gave some of their delightful music, and were all made happy by a beneficial supper.

Clarke Family - Helen Louise Clarke Lindgren Letter - To Christina Lindgren

Nana dear - We haven't done

Half enough for your birthday, eighty one!

We thought and thunk and scratched our hair

But - there wasn't any inspiration there.

You don't like perfume - lace nor candy

You don't need lots of things that are just dandy.

The only help you now could need -

Is [to] turn back the years that speed.

We can't do that by slight of hand

So the next best help is - Disneyland!

When the weathers cool  and you feel fit

We'll take you there and pay the chit.

You can start again just like a girl

As down the old Main Street we'll whirl

Relive the days of high old shoes-

Go in a country store and choose

Ride the stream on a river boat

Or go Frontier - style on a billy goat!

We can sit and look and browse awhile

Or be modern and travel rocket style

We want you to go and do what's fun

And say it was good when the day is done.-

Love from

All the Lindgrens

Dearest Sweetheart,
I have just got here and met one of the Hammer boys. they let the water out of the engine and tanks some time ago- before it got cold enough to hurt anything. I have ordered a can and will try to load as soon as it comes. Is is very muddy now and I expect it will be Wednesday before I can load.
     Don't be uneasy about me-

I think I can take care of myself. Go to Shawnee Thursday I will be there is I possibly can - Have your teeth fixed anyhow and give a check on date bank if he has to have his money. Sign my name by you.
