Clarke Family - Thomas G. Clark - History of Madison County, Indiana


I found this volume of historical biographies on FamilySearch.org at an unremembered date. The face page of this book reads:

PERSONAL SKETCH OF THOHOMAS G. CLARK.

     MR. C. was born in Virginia; came to this country in an early day, and located in Lafayette township, near Florida station. He was elected to the legislature as a Democrat in 1856, and served with ability, and was for several years township trustee. Mr.C. took great interest in the county and did as much as any other man for its advancement. Few men were more universally respected than Mr. Clark. He removed to Wayne county, Indiana, about the year 1863, and died there in 1870: Mr. C. was tall, and had

dark hair and a dark complexion. Florida station, where he lived, was long known as Clark station, named in honor of him. He was the colleague of Colonel Stillwell in the House in the winter of '56 and '57.
