How to Find your ancestors on FamilySearch.org

FamilySearch.org is a free website. All you have to do is sign up. The LDS church cannot/will not proselytize to you.

Click on the "Find" tab on the left side under the logo with the stylized tree and then "FamilySearch".

You will then see under "Discover Your Deceased Ancestors" 2 links:

If you know the name of the person click on Find by name.

If you know the person's ID number fill it in.

You should be able to see if someone has input your deceased ancestor. The only way to see living persons is if you put them into FamilySearch. If someone else put them in, you will not see them until later in the research if there is a duplicate entry.
